Loss of a loved one
The loss of a loved one is one of the most profound and challenging experiences we can all face. Counselling provides a safe, empathetic and compassionate space to explore the complex emotions that grief can bring. Everyone experiences bereavement differently, there may be feelings of sadness, anger, guilt or confusion with a sense of numbness. These feelings may come on in waves and sometimes unexpectedly. You may find yourself struggling to cope with daily life wondering how to carry on. It's important to remember that you don't have to go through this alone. Counselling provides a safe, understanding space where you can talk openly about your loss, with no pressure to "move on" before you're ready. A non-judgemental space is provided for you to be able to express your emotions and to reflect on your loved one who passed away and to help begin to make sense of life without them. Through this supportive counselling process, individuals can find ways to honour their loss, adjust to their changed reality, and gradually move towards healing at their own pace.
Children and Young People's Berevement Counselling
Children and Young people deal with grief differently, they may struggle to articulate their emotions in the way that adults do. Counselling helps to explore and make sense of difficult feelings. Building trust is key, children may feel unsure or overwhelmed when starting therapy. Patience and sensitivity is needed to help them develop healthy coping stratagies to build resilience and improve emotional understanding, helping them to navigate life's challenges with greater confidence and support. Children and young people can express their feelings through play, for example through art, reading, drawing, conversations and storytelling.
Grief can be overwhelming at any age, but for children and young people, it can feel confusing and isolating. A gentle supportive space is provided, each child's experience of grief is unique, and so is the way I support them through their experiences. Sessions are tailored to meet their individual needs, at their own pace, with warmth, empathy, patience and understanding .
Baby Loss Counselling
Baby loss is a deeply painful experience that can leave parents and family members feeling overwhelmed with guilt, grief and confusion. The focus within counselling is too provide a compassionate and safe space where individuals can explore their emotions. Every journey through baby loss is unique whether that be through miscarriage, stillbirth, Neonantal death, termination, Eptopic pregnancy or a Molar pregnancy.
Each loss can be deeply distressing and counselling offers a space to acknowledge your pain, honour your loss and support healing in a sensitive and non-judgemnetal way. There is no right way to feel, no timeline for healing, and no need to go through it alone. Counselling can offer a gentle, compassionate space where you are free to express whatever you're feeling without judgement or expectation. Whether your loss was recent or many years ago, support is available whenever you are ready. The grief that follows baby loss is unique, deeply personal, and often difficult to put into words.
Pet Bereavement Counselling
Losing a pet can be a deeply painful experience, the bond we share with our pets often mirrors the love and companionship found in close human relationships. When a beloved pet passes away, it's not uncommon to feel intense grief, loneliness or even guilt. These emotions are natural, pets often provide us with unconditional love, comfort and a sense of routine.
