My own journey into counselling began from my own personal life experiences. There were times in life when i felt lost, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to cope, what made the biggest difference was having someone who listened without judgement and held space for me to explore my feelings.
Through my own healing, i began to understand how powerful it is to be truly seen and heard. It made me realise how many people are silently struggling, just needing someone to walk beside them.
Becoming a counsellor felt like coming home, a way to use both my lived life experiences and professional training to support others in an empathetic, caring and non-judgemental way.
We all carry things, some recent, some buried deep, through counselling, we gently unpack those things together, at your own pace.
I offer a warm, person-centred approach to counselling. This means that i will listen deeply without judgement or pressure, and support you in exploring whatever is on your mind. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to help you find your own answers, make sense of your own feelings and move forward in a way that feels right for you.
My decision to specialise in bereavemnet counselling comes from a deeply personal place. Like many of the people that I support, i have experienced the pain of losing someone close. It was through my own healing journey that I came to understand the power of being truly heard, this experience inspired me to train professionally so i could offer that same space to others, a space where your pain, your memories, your emotions and your story are all welcome.
I understand how grief can come in waves, sometimes catching you completely off guard, it can leave you feeling lost, isolated and unsure on how to move foward.
Through my own life experiences of grief since a young age, I decided to specailse in bereavement counselling. Losing someone you love can feel overwhelming, whether the loss was recent or some time ago, the pain of grief can affect every part of your life. With having lived the experience of grief many times in my life, I bring compassion, empathy and the experience from walking a similiar path.
